Brainstorming lesson for themes and ideas for coursework
Potential themes:
We also decided to use mental illness as no one else in out class was going to incorporate mental illness, and so it meant our piece would be a little more individual and also simply because we liked the fact we weren't doing the same
When producing a film for a certain target audience it is important that we know what our audience will enjoy in a film, and also what they expect from a certain genre. All of the groups in our class made surveys in order to understand what our audiences would want or enjoy,

Potential themes:
- family
- Gender- gender roles, gender identification
- sexism
- domestic abuse
- Racism- stereotyping races, minorities, immigrants
- Crime- gang crime, gun culture, rape..
- Bullying
- Drug abuse, drug addiction, drug culture
- Sexuality

- mental illness
Development of our ideas/themes:
- Gender- One of our first ideas was to explore gender identification in the life of a middle ages house wife. We would explore how her family reacts to her choices and how she struggles with her own identification
- Mental illness- we also were intrigued by how we would go about filming this and the ideas we had were a lot more creative then when talking about identity. We knew we wanted to look at a middle aged protagonist having a mental illness, instead of focusing on teenagers.
