Finished Film

First edit

Group critique- Tuesday 15th December.

During the group critique we watched each others opening sequences and gave constructive criticism for each clip so that the group could improve and make a final edit of their sequence. when we showed our first edit we were given many helpful and constructive comments and criticisms in order to improve.

  • It was better to have a middle aged protagonist as then the target audience ( reformers) would be able to relate as ,statistically speaking, our target audience is mostly middle aged or a little younger.
  • secondly, we found that pascal ( Chris' second personality) was slightly confusing for some people. However, others also said that pascals presence on screen was intriguing and made the opening sequence more interesting in the way that it made them want to watch on.
  • thirdly, we found that the opening shots before we even see Chris on the seafront people really liked as they introduced the area well and the camera work we were told was interesting due to the street lights being distorted and sparkly.
  • One person said they found the lighting from the cars to bright and a little messy but in contrast another member of our class said that they contrast well with the dark promenade and sky.
  • Our logo went down very well in when we showed our first edit of the opening sequence. people said it was creative but also worked well as it was conventionally British and so went well with the opening sequence and showed we had put a lot of thought into it and how we wanted it to look.

Second edit

In the second edit we made many many changed and added music to our opening sequence. Our actor that was playing the antagonist (chris's other personality) was too busy to make some of our filming dates and so we had to find a new actor and re-film and then finish of the scenes we hadn't completed yet. In this edit we played around with adding the title sequences but we still have no titles giving directors and actors names or the lottery logos ect.

Second group critique

during this second group critique we received lots of constructive criticism about the last little tweaks we need to apply to add to make our film seem polished and properly finished. For example:

  • change the placement of our title sequences instead of having them in the middle of the seafront clips as it doesn't flow well and disorientates the audience slightly
  • perfect the film title sequence by making it more graphical to make it a lot clearer what the title is ect.
  • we need to add the titles of the actors and directors
  • continuity errors
  • audio of dialogue on seafront needs to be dubbed or refilmed.

Finished film.
